My 24‑Hour Battle With Connecting Instagram to Facebook

You’d think connecting an Instagram page to a Facebook page in 2026 would be a two‑tap job. You’d be wrong.

Yesterday I fell into the kind of digital rabbit hole that only Meta can create — the kind where every button you need is missing, every menu looks different from the tutorials, and the platform swears your Page exists… except when it doesn’t.

The Problem

All I wanted was to link my Instagram fitness page to my Facebook fitness page so I could cross‑post. Simple. Except Instagram insisted on pretending my Page wasn’t real. Facebook said it was connected. Instagram said it wasn’t. Accounts Center acted like a locked room with no windows.

  • Instagram couldn’t “see” the Page
  • Facebook insisted everything was fine
  • Accounts Center offered zero clarity

At one point, I genuinely wondered if I had imagined creating the Page.

The Attempted Fixes

I tried everything: logging out, logging in, switching accounts, refreshing the Page, unpublishing, republishing, clearing caches, forcing Meta to “rediscover” the Page, and clicking through menus that may or may not have existed five minutes earlier.

Every time I thought I’d found the right setting, it led to another dead end. Every tutorial I checked had a different interface. Every help article assumed buttons that simply weren’t there.

The Current Situation

After hours of troubleshooting, I managed to get Instagram to acknowledge that the Page exists… but the connection still refuses to complete. Facebook says everything is linked. Instagram says absolutely not. And Accounts Center continues to sit in the corner like a silent witness.

So for now, the mystery continues. The connection is half‑alive, half‑missing, and fully confusing. And despite all the digging, clicking, and detective work, I still haven’t figured it out.
